“This is the best meal I have ever eaten!”
A line my best friend exclaims regularly. It’s cute & funny & always has me like, “Really? THIS is the best meal you have EVER eaten!?” usually in doubt because I have a hard time believing my cooking could be the best thing ever, especially for someone who has dined all over the world. Lucky for my ego, there is sincerity in this often used phrase.
Recently, I actually had the best meal I have ever eaten. In fact, multiple meals one right after the other. My partner, Spencer & I decided to spend an entire day making up a few delicious dishes, photographing the outcome & naturally eating the coursed out meals throughout the day. It was by far one of the most enjoyable dates I have had!
Punk music blaring from his phone, me snapping on the camera constantly & a counter full of fresh, local, organic ingredients to create with – mushrooms, yams, garlic, acai berries, broccoli, beets, rosemary, parsley, thyme, lemons, yellow tomatoes, microgreens. A picture of perfection & endless possibility!
The first dish was a take on the classic broccoli salad.
I’ll call this one Super Food Broccoli Salad!
